Christmas 2013 Greetings

Posted on 23 Dec 2013 by CERC

Greetings dear friends and supporters,

As the year draws to a close, we look forward as a church to another opportunity of preaching the gospel this Christmas. For our church as well, we will be reminded again of Christ and His centrality to our existence as His church.

We recently celebrated CERC’s 5th year, and the passing of these 5 years with its ups and downs has not lessened the church’s enthusiasm for God’s work.

Despite the difficulties, we’ve seen God grow His church. We’ve gone from meeting in a living room, to taking the risk of renting a larger shoplot, and then making a second move to our current premises comprising 2 floors which have served ministry so well. From our small beginnings, God has provided for the ministry of and to more than a hundred of us now.

As God has grown people, more also have expressed desire to be apprenticed for ministry, and this coming new year, Jerome Leng will be enrolled for theological study with others doing the same every year after this.

In true Christian spirit, the whole church has got together therefore to prepare more space for at least 2 seminarians in a new location in the North-West. (Incidentally, the translation of the road it is on is also Sun Way). This new location will be able to house both students full-time for concentrated study with all the amenities whilst providing the space for a family-oriented meeting on Sunday mornings, out in the North-West of the Klang Valley. Most of our parents with children are making the move there. Altogether this little campus will be many times larger at its start than those who met to start the church at our first meeting.

Our Bandar Sunway campus will continue to cater to students and adults in the area alike. But the new campus is also full of opportunities for the gospel. HELP university has already opened its International School there and its relocation of students to its new university campus being built there will also give us more opportunities for ministry. The entire area will also see growth in the next several years including a train line and a new highway.

Thank you for all your gifts, prayers, and encouragement this last year. We treasure your heart-felt love for the gospel’s work here in Malaysia above all else. We hope the more easily accessible “Support-Us” page on our website is serving you well. Drop Lucy a mail if you’d like to see something there in particular. In 2014 we will be preaching through the book of Romans ? may it also possibly benefit you and prove helpful to your growth.

May you have a great Christmas celebrating and speaking of Christ’s salvation to all who are lost without it.

In Christ,

Robin Gan, Elder
