Ulrich Zwingli, a Swiss reformer recognised this danger and cared greatly that God might be uncompromisingly known in His Word. So he fought hard to recover the authority of Scripture in his time. He strongly believed in the efficacy and clarity of Scripture, and that it was God's way of teaching His saints.
