Hosea 6:4-9:6

Sunday, 23 January 2022 // Hosea

Description

They shall not pour drink offerings of wine to the Lord, and their sacrifices shall not please him. It shall be like mourners' bread to them; all who eat of it shall be defiled; for their bread shall be for their hunger only; it shall not come to the house of the Lord. (Hosea 9:4)

Wait... why is God refusing to accept the offerings from His own people, Israel?

Israel has had quite the track record in God's eyes. Whether it's making alliances with foreign nations instead of trusting in God, or pouring out their hearts before idols, they have shown themselves to be a thoroughly adulterous wife towards God, their faithful husband.

Today, many claim to know and love the Lord, yet their actions prove otherwise. How different, then, are Christians today from the Israelites?
