Wait...What? - Jeremiah 29:11 is not saying God promises us a bright future.

Sunday, 23 August 2020 // God's Story: Old Testament

Description

Jeremiah 29:11 is saying God has plans for us.

Jeremiah 29:11 is saying God gives us a future and a hope.

BUT Jeremiah 29:11 is NOT saying God promises us a “bright future” – if by that we mean comfort, success and abundance.

And we certainly cannot demand or claim it into our lives.

Wait...what?

This sermon was preached by our pastor-in-training, Jerome Leng, as part of our Wait... What? series featuring God's Story.

Please note that all the audio for our sermons is recorded live and only very lightly edited. From time to time you will hear the preacher making off-the-sermon comments or silences that come with this context. These include: the preacher making a wordless gesture or action to the audience, dropping and picking up something, a blooper that disrupts the flow of the sermon, and even a power outage! Thank you for understanding. We are working on uploading video for all the sermons that work better on video. Keep growing under the Word; may God bless His church.
