Exodus: The God who dwells with His people

Sunday, 8 March 2020 // God's Story: Old Testament

Description

When God redeemed the nation of Israel from Egypt and gave it new life, He also transferred Israel from the dominion of Egypt's rule to the dominion of His rule. God established laws for His people as a steadfast mark of their identity as God's people. Chief among them was this First Commandment:

"I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me." - Exo 20:2-3

If Israel would indeed be God's people dwelling under His rule, they had to be a holy nation conformed to God (Exo 19:4-6).

Do you know this holy God who dwells with His people? Do you know what it means to be His people?
