The Gospel in John

Sunday, 24 January 2021 // God's Story: New Testament

Description

Aren't the Gospel accounts all the same? Why do we need 4 of them?

The 4 Gospels are like 4 different cups of coffee.

Latte, Americano, Mocha, Affogato.

They're all coffee, but they all have their own uniqueness; their own adaptation and use of caffeine, milk, sugar. They seek to bring out different reactions to your tastebuds.

Just like the 4 Gospels of the New Testament:

"When you see the unique perspective and style of the Gospel writers, and the apologetic of the life of Christ, you will no longer think four accounts are unnecessary or unhelpful. Instead, to borrow and adjust a phrase from Charles Wesley, you’ll long for a thousand Gospels to sing our great Redeemer’s praise (John 21:25)."
