2 Timothy

Sunday, 24 October 2021 // God's Story: New Testament

Description

Keep the faith; be ready; fight the good fight; don't compromise – the gospel of Christ is worth it!

In Paul’s second letter to Timothy, Paul urges Timothy to press on in preaching the gospel, both in season and out of season, being ready to rebuke, reprove and exhort God's people (2 Tim 4:2). Paul also acknowledges that there will be hardships, yet he urges Timothy to not be ashamed of the gospel. Instead, Paul charges Timothy to remember the Lord, endure suffering, and fulfil his ministry.

What exactly does it mean for Timothy to "fulfil his ministry"? Is suffering an unavoidable part of it?
