It takes real hope to last in this perishing world.
For the apostle Paul, his only hope was a new creation, as promised by God, fulfilled in Christ Jesus. That gave Paul and his fellow brothers cause to boast in Christ and in their ministry.
Christ's work on the cross far surpasses anything in the world, even the law.
Hence the church in Corinth was called into question. Were they adhering to the truth of the Gospel? Were they supportive of Gospel work?
Or were they still living according to the flesh?
