HODs Get Together at Bukit Tinggi

Last November, CERC’s heads of departments (HoDs) got together at Grace Hill in Bukit Tinggi away from the hustle and bustle of the Klang Valley for a time of reflection, learning and fellowship.

It is a rarity and a privilege for the HoDs to get together; and it was encouraging to see representatives from all departments in the church present.

The retreat started with HoDs sharing their reflections on 2015, both the highs and the lows, not only in ministry but also in how they are persevering on as Christians in everyday life. It was great to see several new members coming on board as HoDs and serving with fervour for the gospel.

One notable reflection includes how CERC, which is in her 8th year has grown to over 200 members and regulars weekly through the work of the Holy Spirit and his church. Given the overflowing number of people in CERC Central each week, the church’s leadership is currently studying and drafting plans to expand the church’s premises to accommodate the growth.

The HoDs also spent a good part of the retreat learning and discussing how they can be better leaders within their various ministries. Key points that were discussed include, being humble and driven about the work that needs to be accomplished, being an example to the department as well as timely reminders on the need to continue their work with a dutiful heart especially when times get tough.

It was an edifying time together for the HoDs as they discussed about ministries and bonded over meals together over the course of three days.
