Tertiary GG 1

  • The proud endeavours on his own wisdom
    boasting when his desires are met
    but in faults searches to blame
    and on and on he goes about
    all the days of his vain life
    like a moth to a flame
    consuming itself.
  • Life is like a sandcastle. Tough to build, nice to look at but short-lived. Better to build the eternal church.
  • The quest for immortality is in the hearts of men forever but joy, blessings and enjoyment of life is in the hands of God.
  • PhD's are done to find the scheme of things but money solves all problems. Students should take heed of this under the sun because they cannot take either to Sheol.
  • Do not seek goodness from men for their hearts are filled with wickedness and madness. Only fear God who does everything from eternal to eternal.

  • Enjoy the dew while it is still on the leaves.

  • No, sadness is the best medicine.
  • Always look towards today, never to lessterdays.
  • Don't be a goody-two-shoes or a party pooper, it ruins your social life.

  • Want perfection? Too bad you can't have it.

  • Everything is vanity,
    Both winners and losers in society,
    Only the Fear of God restores my sanity,
    to live this life filled with evil and cruelty,
    But I know that God is in control,
    in His mercy at the end He will save my soul.

  • Do not be overly healthy nor diet too much. Why should you destroy yourselves?
  • An old woman's joints cannot tell when its going to rain.
  • Sung to the tune of the Birthday song: You are going to die soon, You are going to die soon, You are one year closer to death, You are going to die soon.
  • Use your wisdom in making a sandcastle otherwise you will end up falling into the pit like Erik and lose the game.
  • Better is a woman who eats, than a woman who'd rather read Vogue.
  • It only takes one drop of black paint to corrupt a pail of white paint.
  • Better is a woman with enough shoes, than Imelda Marcos or Carrie Bradshaw.
  • Fear of the Lord is bliss (as opposed to ignorance is bliss).
  • At Chinese New Year Reunions, if aunties ask you when you are getting married, reply with when are you going to die?
  • A little affects a lot.
  • To have a rash is better than being rash.
  • Study your bible in the morning, and don't be idle in the evening, for you don't know when you will understand it. GG leaders especially.
  • Practice your guitar and be skilled at it lest you stumble your church by your unedifying playing. Wisdom has the advantage in giving success.
  • Death is certain, life is uncertain.

  • It is wisdom, not to hunt to wisdom.
  • To be wise… or not to be wise, that is not the question.
  • Why so chirpy? (ala the Joker in the Dark Knight).
  • A life of futility sucks. Screw it! Death in Christ is beautiful. Embrace it!
  • ‘Mai keh gau. Mai keh gong!' (translation: Don't be too smart. Don't act stupid as my Hokkien grandma would say).
  • Don't use Ecclesiastes 7:28 on your wives!
  • Intelligence can make you become a clever devil.
  • Don't ask what you don't know.
  • So many women, so little time!
  • Life is too short just to be enjoyed.
  • Do things that matter till the last of your dying breath… NOT!
  • Everything that needs to be written, has already been written.
